Smile Valve cover question

Anyone using covers like or similar to these. Also Would in your opinion the vented covers offer better breathing for the engine as opposed to the filler tube type breather ? What about the PCV. may not be needed?

Re: Valve cover question

I would defenatly drill those for a breather and a PCV. There is no reason NOT to run one. It sucks out the acidic vapors and then burns them.
That's a good thing.

As far as the covers go, those look kick ass IMO.

Re: Valve cover question

I really do like these covers also . Not very fond of hacking them up for the pcv and breathers. Guess Ill use my old s%%t and hang these on the wall. Seen similar to these on vetts when vets cost around 3or 4 thousand dollars. been awhile back. Thanks for the informatin btw cdowns . Looks very nice what you have posted there. Thanks for the view.

Re: Valve cover question

Cal Customs makes a set like that (with the holes) and can be had off Summit for about $150). Putting holes in those would be asking for trouble cause without baffles, you'd blow oil out of the vents, and suck oil into the PCV. They ran all the way into 67 before they put breathers on them, so I'd say you could run a weekend warrior or a once in a while truck with the filler/breather set-up or just buy a new set with the holes baffled. They are sweet!! I have a set (broken) but I'll get another set, now that I too know where to get them!!

Re: Valve cover question

Those will cause severe damage to your motor and I would hate to see that happen. To prevent the possibility of any damage please send them to.....

Re: Valve cover question

I'm running them on my truck. Mine are not drilled for PVC or breather. I'm using an early intake with the front fill and breather and mine's fine so far. I haven't had any leaks, blow-by ect.

use an intake from a 327 with the front oil fill, should be fine, they used them on the early impalas
