Seatbelt Replacement

The belts I have are totally unsafe, frayed and warped. Do any of you guys have a spare set for a bench seat in black, or Know where I can look for a good set?

I would opt for a new set as most sets you find in salvage yards are so dirty! You can get sets fairly cheap at www.lmctruck.com or www.chevyduty.com

JC Whitney might even have them too.

I think Swervin, after being unhappy with some he purchased, had a set made by replacing the webbing in his old ones. Hopefully he will jump in here with the details.

Yeah, I bought some new ones like you find everywhere on the net. They suck. Didn't like them one bit. I gave up on new ones and talked the guy at a upholstery shop into rewebbing my old ones. At first he told me they couldn't be done because of the way they were made. He kept messing with them and figured out what he had to do.

If you can find someone to redo yours, I would go this route. You'll be much happier with them because they will look factory.

Why is it that I can remember crap like that, but nothing useful whatsoever?

Oh well.

I rember as well Mike saying that the dealer didn't have any either. I was thinking later on about getting some from 88-94 trucks that look better than ours IMO. Then you could just get them redyed to your color needed.

You can't dye seatbelts. The material they are made from won't take any dye. I know this for a fact, as I tried this when I changed my interior to black. This is the reason I ended up having to get mine redone in the first place.

Forget about buying any from the dealer. Even if they did have them, which they won't, it would cost you a arm and a leg.
