Headlights info???????

Can you buy a single headlight, combined hi/low beam, to fit inside a double headlight frame?

I want the other headlight space for my ram air intake....

Thanks!

Re: Headlights info???????

My new LMC catalogue came and as I was going through it I noticed that the headlights they sell for 69 GMC 4 headlight systems are EITHER hi or lo beam only?

Re: Headlights info???????

They are high-low only because the inner has a single element and the outer has two elements.(high-low)

Re: Headlights info???????

The original GMC headlights were PAR-46. Outer lamps -#4002; hi beam 55 watts, lo beam 37.5 watts. The inner headlights were #4001; lo-beam 37.5 watts. I don't believe that either of these (non-halogen ) are available. Replacements are halogen #5006 hi beam 35 watts; lo beam 35 watts and #5001 hi beam 50 watts. The #5006 are somewhat dim - 35 watts. There is available a lamp with an H-4 bulb- 60 watts hi beam and 55 watts lo beam. Cost is #15.00+each. Have seen these in JC Whitney catalog and should also be available thru your local parts houses. Seems like you would have to use the lamps with an H-4 bulb for adequate lighting

Re: Headlights info???????

JC Whitney Part #SA9319P - $15.99 each. Replace outside lamps only with these high output lamps. Web site indicates these lamps are for Off-Road use only; however the 60/55W is D.O.T approved. 100/55W, 100/80W and 130/90 H4 bulbs are available for off-road use.
