Just another dumb thing that happened to me,bad radiator cap was my problem on a 76 3/4 350.The old truck run fine until a trip on I29 to St Joe,it started getting hot and i would pull over and it took a while but would cool down and after three times of this it was getting old.Finally i held the throttle at highway speeds and watched the bottom hose suck shut.shut it down and after a little cooling time dug thru the tool box and found a roll of wire.

Wound the wire inside the hose and filled it with ditch water.Made the rest of the trip with out a hitch but found the radiator cap at fault..........As far as I know the wire is still in it
