Re: What did you get done? 06/24

Last week I installed my rear quarter glass on my Suburban after some hoodlums threw a brick at it.
Friday I met up with a board member and we went up to see my truck with the 6.0 and the chopped crossmember.
Saturday I drove the Burb with the Jamie and Elizabeth to a friends house that found me some less dented barn doors for $70. Realized I need the A/C fixed next.
Sunday cleaned up/reorganized the garage.

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

On Friday I worked on my '83. I had swapped the pass side door out last week, this week I tranferred all the power window components over..Got it working. I had to clean out the fuel system to get it to run right...syphened out the old gas and put in 5 gallons of super and some Heet, took apart the carb and cleaned it out. Its finally running normal...Took it out for its first ride around the neighborhood...with open headers...I wasn't making any friends!! Next weekend, the exhaust...

Stage one of the Poncho Quadrajet rebuild & blueprint for the new 406: Soaked & cleaned the carb; epoxied the well plugs; inspected internals, new larger needle & seat, re-jetted; cut the baffle for more fuel storage; tested the ol' brass float; new dash pot; modified accelerator pump (shaved 1/8th off the top); enlarged the accelerator pump discharge holes in the gasket; removed the secondary lockout tang; replaced secondary rods & hanger; drilled & bushed the throttle plate for the primary throttle shaft; reassembled.

After all that work it still looks like a stock quadrajet

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

Friday went to see Chris's (CaptKaos) truck on the way back home from a business trip.

Building this from the square tube I bought to build a compressor and tank rack for my GMC. I still have some work to do on it like a top and a shelf for the DVD player. I needed a TV stand worse than a place to put all of my airride stuff on my truck. The tank and compressor are already in place under the cab I just wanted to relocate them. I guess I'm going to be buying more square tube.

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

Finished up replacing the brushes in the power window motor as I mentioned in the thread: So You Say Your Windows Are Slowin' Down . Then headed down to the Rocky Mountain Street Rod Nationals. They had 'bout 1,904 rods there. It was another good show. I saw a really nice a C.O.E. Chevy that was very well built and the attention to detail was amazing.
