Hi All! I have a stock 72 K10. I bought some 6 bolt 1987 factory rally wheels off ebay-will they fit my 72 without modification?

Yeah, I bought this truck from the original owner. It is totally stock! Literally every single original part is on it. Still has original shocks, u-joints and exhuast, never lifted and no holes drilled in it anywhere. It has 97,000 miles on it. Had car tires on it when I got it-so it was'nt off roaded. PS, PB and Factory A/C. Never seen anything survive in such condition, especially a 4x4 truck! Tony

Welcome to the board and nice truck!! Be sure to post a pic in the 4wd Section in the Post Your 4x4 Pic Thread.Personally,I think the truck would look good with a 2" lift and some 33s on rally wheels.Maybe add a chrome sport bumper on the rear too..but that's just me..

Here is the trouble. I have the wheels-bolt holes line up perfectly, trouble is they are really tight fitting over the axle shaft where the center hole fits over. I think I could crank the wheels on with the lugnuts but then they might never come back off. What should I do? Do I have to grind the hole out larger. Seems like the hole is very close to fitting but just too tight. Thanks for any help. Tony

It should be a sort of a tight fit..load is on the hub,not the studs for the lugnuts.If they are off a 4wd,they should work.Sometimes I just have to spin the rim around and push in and it goes on.

Sometimes the centers will bind and have to be hit with a die grinder. Mine were almost impossible to get off when I redid the ball joints. Would not want that to happen if I had a flat on the side of the road.

Plan for the truck is to leave it as stock as possible since it is so rare to see one like this. So I will put rally wheels on it with BFG 31x10.50x15, leave it stock ride height. In the future I may replace the engine with a factory GM 290 HP 350 crate motor. I would like to install the Edelbrock multiport fuel injection system on it someday. Thing is the truck is so damn stock I hate to touch it at all, but they were ment to be used and enjoyed right? Tony

As far as the wheels go the die grinder idea sounds good. I just wanted to make sure that these wheels were supposed to fit the truck! Anymore advice would be appreciated. Thanks Tony

Here is a pic of my truck with GM White spokes....truck is stock suspension w/33" tires.....your rally's should fit the same as these......if you are going to die grind the hole he is only talking about grinding the center hole where it goes over the hub.....you should not grind the stud holes in anyway.....Good Luck with the truck......
