Flatbed Conversion?
Has anyone done one? I was looking to do one to my 72 LWB but wasn't sure how to go about it

The mounting points on the longbox are level so you should just have to build a flat deck and attach it to the frame on the long box mounting points.
I just removed two longboxes last weekend, each had 8 bolts holding them down. You will have to do something about rear lights as well.

so then just take the bed off...build a flat deck frame and figure out a way to keep the lights in it?

Go to the local service truck dealer.Test drive one(without the salesman) and use it to see exactly how it is put together and what it would take to build one to fit your truck.
