i got a question about rebuilding my 84

what im wondering is this..i am thinking after i get off of workers comp, abotu rebuilding my 84 3/4 back to stock..it is stock now, but i would like to make it like new again..strip it to the frame, all new suspension parts, go through the motor, and upgrade to a 5 speed..change ou the gears to a more highway friendly gear..then have the body work done..main thing i want donw is the frame up to body,,i can wait on the body, but would like it to run like a new truck...how much do you all think it would cost,,,,and does anybody in here do this to these year model trucks..im not physcly gonna be able to do it, and would like to find somebody that does good work, that i can trust to do it right..i hope to be able to do this in the next 6 to 12 months...if they ever get off their butts and do somthing to me, other than jerk me around in circles...

Re: i got a question about rebuilding my 84

Unless you feel a special attachment to your truck I would suggest looking around and finding one pretty much the way you want it. I know herre in Phoenix there are several trucks that you are describing (check craigslist) that are going pretty low considering what it would cost to do a full frame off. My son just built his 78 k-10 and spent a lot of $$$$ and time I'm sure he'd never do it again and look for something pretty much stock and work from there.

Just my 0.02 cents

Tom
