Thumbs down Watch out for this ebayer?

Here is a just closed auction. The HOT ROD pros informed me that 73 -87 wheels came STOCK on 72 trucks and was quite rude about my ? Did not believe that 72's did not come from the factory this way. No wonder about his 97% feedback on such a low score!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...47&rd=1:drama:

Look at his feedback, only one? What happened to the rest of them? Why did he sell a 30 grand MC for a 100 dollar bid? I tried to contact the buyer and e-bay would not allow me. So what really is going on here? Just thought good members should know in case of dealing with them.

Re: Watch out for this ebayer?

Another know it all that knows nothing. If that truck is a 90 pointer, pigs fly. It's a nice truck, but there is alot of stuff not original, worn paint, rust running off the rocker...

Re: Watch out for this ebayer?

Certainly looks suspicious to me.

A couple things that jumped out at me right away:
If it's original paint, why aren't the tailgate letters painted?
And it looks like the chrome for the back of the cab at the two tone split was never here (no rivets).
Nice mismatched interior colors too.

Definitely someone I'd steer clear of.

In fairness. They did say the bird was custom installed in the description.

Re: Watch out for this ebayer?

Hmmm...the seller rated it at 90.That`s higher than the one that was rated lower and went for $16,000.So,that means this one must be worth more, right? No?Thanks, that BS had me wanting to go out and give them $20,000.I don`t see where he`s claiming all these thing to be original.
Except...I don`t see the filler for the factory dual tank.It is a`72-only option, just not ordered on this one.He must mean the aftermarket tank.

Re: Watch out for this ebayer?

It's a nice truck but not near what the seller seems to think it is. As far as the steering column goes I think that it's correct. My truck is dark green with a tan dash pad and steering column. I also have the white door panels and seat belts like this truck has. Odds are the seat should have been white as well. Again, nice truck, but not near as nice as they are trying to lead people to believe. Probably would have been a good deal at what that auction closed for.

My '72 is that exact color combo and my interior parts were all black from the factory.

Re: Watch out for this ebayer?

My '72 is orange with the parchment/sandalwood interior combo. The seats and door panels are off-white (parchment) and the dash pad, top of dash and column are sandalwood.

This ebay truck looks like you'd find a lot of problems once you over pay for it and get it home. Nothing worse than a "know-it-all" seller who doesn't know what they are talking aobut.

Notice that he only sold 4 out of 250 available? That's $400 in his bank...I wonder if he even posessed the bike in the 1st place.
