Yes,
Very nice trucks in there own right. Black with gold trim and lettering. There was something on here a while back on the Gent Jim's. Do a search and see what it turns up.

By what I understand, these were only available in 1975 and were GMC only.

Re: 1972 Gentleman Jim Truck

I'll have to agree that they were later.I have seen a couple and they were the black and gold.IIRC there was also a trim package called the heavy half about the same time. The only one of those I remember was blue and silver.

I think it had heavy duty spring option. It was just a package. You could order a truck with as much payload, but it wouldn`t say "Big 10" like the package.

Re: 1972 Gentleman Jim Truck

I have a Gentleman Jim. They are all 1975s, not 72 or 76 as you might read on other sites.

The Beau James trucks are not 3/4 ton's, don't have any 3/4 components, and couldn't be ordered with them. People are believing that because of a website that states his Beau James is on a 3/4 ton frame. (1/2 and 3/4 ton frames carry the exact same part number from 73-87.) I believe he was confused by the 15 designation vice 10 (GMC vs Chevy C15 vs C10 etc...).

More info on my website like the picture linked in above, also about the Indy Haulers, GMC Street Coupe trucks and Chevy Sport trucks... Link below...

Re: 1972 Gentleman Jim Truck

Buddy of mine bought a re-poed Gentleman Jim in '77, for $900. Found over $20 under the seats (a rebate?).

It had some whiskey dents and he had it repainted....black where it was already black, but had the gold resprayed with Fomoco Wimbledon White. He was a Mustang fanatic and didn't like the gold on his truck. He recently passed on the running remains to his son-in-law. It ain't purty, y'all.

The posted truck looks like I remember them looking.

Anybody got a pix of the Indy Pace Truck that GMC sold?

Re: 1972 Gentleman Jim Truck

When I was a kid we lived next to the local Oldsmobile dealer and they had a Blue and Silver Gentleman Jim as their parts truck. I saw that truck get rode hard.

There is one of these running around Claremore. See it a lot by the local tire store.
