Strange Buzzing Noise?

While I was under my truck today I kept brushing away rediculous amount of bees. When I got up to get a socket I noticed this in my birch tree. I hope they are just passin by.

Nah, stay away and leave 'em alone for awhile; they'll move on. They are just swarming -- out looking for a place for a new hive. Seems like there was a thread here (or maybe on another board) about this. Lemme take a look around...

Re: Strange Buzzing Noise?

Those look like honey bees. They are actually getting kinda rare. Bee nice to them. Something is killing them off. You can Google it if you are interested. Lots of info there.

Yeah, they seem harmless. Didn't get too upset when I was taking their picture up close. I'll just let nature take it's course.

They will stay almost exactly 24 hours and then move on. They are clumped up around the queen.

Watch your clock, I promise, 24 hours after they landed they will move on.

Re: Strange Buzzing Noise?

You could call a local bee keeper and they'd be more than happy to come and get them.

Re: Strange Buzzing Noise?

So thats where all the bees went!(jk) We have'nt been seeing too many bees around here lately, maybe because of the cold, wet weather we've been having the last while up here.Apparently bees are becoming scarce in some areas, not a good sign, we need 'em thats for sure.

Re: Strange Buzzing Noise?

Yeah. Like Bus Ted Knuckle said, they won't stay. We had a swarm like that gather on the side of our air compressor shack one day. Pretty docile too. A guy actually went up and stroked it like he was petting a horse! Not that I have enough to try something like that. Seems pretty foolish to me. I'd just leave 'em.
