Gas gauge reading above full - help
I pulled the instrument panel off my 72 ( basic instrument panel ) for various reasons...and after I put it back in, the gas gauge needle went over the full mark and stopped appr. 1/2" above full and there it stays. Any ideas why and how to correct this???
thanks. |

Re: Gas gauge reading above full - help
Do anything to panel other then remove and replace? Past full means that the tan wire from panel to tank unit is open some where.

Re: Gas gauge reading above full - help
Remove this plug and ground the spade where it came off of. Gauge should go to empty. If not your problem should be in the connector to gauge panel. Wiggle it to see if that makes it work. (It did work before -right?)

Quick question on that pic. In the upper right corner what is the red, green, and black connector that is hooked to the silver thingy? I have that plug but it is unhooked and there is no place to plug it into.

R'M'K' is right-horn relay -black wire goes to steering wheel-red wire to power source-green goes to horns.
