Power steering question

Hey everyone. I recently bought a serpentine belt setup off a 88 s-10 with a 4.3. It came with the power steering pump. I dont have any pics of it. But I was wondering if it would work on my 70 model gmc? I know I would have to put some fittings on it.

Thanks for any feedback

Re: Power steering question

I have a similar question so i figured i'd post it here too ---- the girlfriend destroyed my 88 S-10 DD with a 2.8 V-6 (not the 4.3)--- would any of the serpentine parts or other accessories work on a V-8?

And would the overdrive transmission in this truck work with a mild V8?

Re: Power steering question

Streetstar you're out of luck, they're not the same front or back.
Jackyl you should be able to use it. Check with Palf70step on the fitting issue, he had an easy fix, but I don't remember what it was.

Re: Power steering question

most likely the issue will be that the new pump will have metric threads, whereas the old pressure hose will have standard threads. You can get an adapter.

Re: Power steering question

What I did was cut the high pressure line at the metal tubing and used a compression type union to join the line from the trucks steering head to the pump line.
