402 Engine For Sale

I have to pay my property taxes so I must sell my project engine. I am picking the block and rotating assembly up at the machine shop this week. The engine is a 402 engine from a 1970 Chevy pickup. If your looking for an original V8 for your truck this is it. It has been bored 30 over, honed and decked, the rods reconditioned and Sealed Power Speedpro pistons (10:1)hung on the rods with Hastings moly rings. The crank has been turned 10 under and polished. The entire rotating assembly has been ballanced. The block has been checked for cracks and tanked and is ready for paint (I have a can of POR15 chevy orange engine paint). This work was all professionally done by Gary Duckworth Racing Engines, Inc in Maryville, IL who has been building racing engines for over 30 years. Gary estimated about 375 hp when complete. Additional parts: Morroso kickout chrome oil pan, Melling HV77 HD oil pump, Comp Cam 268 grind camshaft, Comp Cam lifters, Stainless steel exhaust and intake valves, Keepers and retainers, main and rod bearings, original heads (need rebuilt), complete Felpro engine gasket set, GM bellhousing for car transmission, flywheel, pressure plate, misc. brackets and a bunch of other stuff I forgot. I have $1800 in this engine project and will take $1,200 for it. Please keep any questions or statements of interest in this thread. I can transport this engine to the meet in Norwood, MO if necessary.

Re: 402 Engine For Sale

Thought of some more items that go with it: Extra good crankshaft and big block engine stands that have been sandblasted and coated with POR15 included also.

Re: 402 Engine For Sale

Just found a couple of more things. I have the original cast iron intake manifold and the harmonic ballancer. This was all in one place once but is spread out now! As I find stuff I will add it to the sale!

Re: 402 Engine For Sale

I think you mean 3975950 for the head casting number? Should be 68-70 396, 402, Truck, oval port, open chamber.

Re: 402 Engine For Sale

Yes the first # could be a three. That description you gave is correct. Will have the cast # from the block later today.

Re: 402 Engine For Sale

At the meet there will be people there from all over the country. I am sure transportation arrangements could be made from there to almost anywhere in the country. I am about 200 miles from Norwood. I'm real close to St. Louis.
