Motor rebuild ? different pistons?????

So, I saw a motor that had been 1/2 rebuilt, they only replaced 1,3,5,7 pistons. I don't get it, I would think it would cause uneven wear or something. Anyone have anything on this?

Could have hydrolocked one side due to coolant in the cylinders and replaced pistons and rods.

That is why I am hesitant to get it. They are all STD pistons, so none are bored. I am going to pull the oil pan next time I get a chance and check the bottom end out.

Re: Motor rebuild ? different pistons?????

It`s not a rebuild unless all pistons are new. It`s an overhaul. If one needs replaced, they all get replaced when I do a motor.My`72 Sierra got all new pistons and valves.
