What Do I Have?
My newly acquired '72 Cheyenne Super (C10) has rear leaf springs. I thought C10s had coils. Was this likely an option? What are the implications for lowering? Thanks.

Any of the 1/2 ton trucks could be ordered with leafs generally the GMC's came with them standard and Chevrolet came with coils but as said before either could be gotten it all depended on what the buyer wanted or what was available. The leafs will lower just like any of the latter leaf spring models do blocks of flip kit or shackles.

Pretty sure that this was option although I'm not totally sure. As for lowering there are a variety of methods depending on how low you want it. You can use a flip kit, lowering leaf springs, re-arch your springs and pull a leaf, or lowering shackles. Anyway good luck..

on my 72 chevrolet i did a flip kit . it droped the rear about 6 inches total. very easy thing to do . me and my brother done in about 2.5 hours .

It should show as a option on the glove box sticker (mine does)
