Re: 6.0L mpg?
The thing with these is they come in larger trucks, like 3/4 ton models mostly, and in extended and crew cab 1/2 tons.
In a lighter truck I think they would fair a little better though. |

Re: 6.0L mpg?
Gee, that's a shame. My ext cab 02 silverado with the 5.3 gives me 20mpg on highway with 373 trailer towing gears. It is 2wd but even my 00' 4x4 Z71 gave me 18mpg highway consistantly. I guess the 6.0 likes gas!

Re: 6.0L mpg?
13mpg in my dads plain-jane 06 3/4 4x4. loaded, light, floored or driven like a grandma, 13mpg. It burns a lot more plowing snow, it gets down to the single digits then.

Re: 6.0L mpg?
I just installed my Wait4Me tuned PCM last week, along with a cold air intake kit. The first tank was 14.7. I'm sure it will be better the next time around, because I have had my foot in it alot with all the new-found power!
Pulled the 5th wheel RV to Wyoming this weekend (RV plus the generator, wood, and extra water is about 7500#). With the new PCM and cold air intake kit, I got 9.97 going up. That was running about 80 mph all the way there. I haven't filled it since we got back. Prior to the PCM and CAI, I was getting 7-8 pulling a 5600# enclosed snowmobile trailer.

Re: 6.0L mpg?
My 05 GMC 1500 HD Crew Cab w/6.0 and low gears with towing package gets between 10 and 11 empty. No mods. That's pretty much all local driving. Obviously if I were to do all highway (which i nenver do) it would go up.
