Re: Tilt Column's

I put a 78 column in it my 82 blazer and it was a bolt in swap

think the 77-83 column was bolt in for it.That was what the wrecks in town said the inter-change was

Re: Tilt Column's

I swaped one from a ī89 Blazer in my ī81 and i had to work a little on the steeringshaft to slip it in the column and with the intermittend wipers on the column now the wiring had to be changed.Besides that its a simple bolt in affair.Unfortunately the spring that keeps the shifthandle in place is broken and i donīt know excactly if there is a difference for three and four speed trannys!?

Re: Tilt Column's

So the years I would look for would be 73-91 Chevy/GMC-trucks and blazers and Sururbans?

Re: Tilt Column's

73-83 if you want to keep it simple. 84-91 has the wiper and dimmer on the column which requires some wiring mods to work in your 79.

Re: Tilt Column's

There are a few differences in the various years. They changed the shape of the intermediate shaft in 77 (I think). There have also been changes in connectors along the way.
