Tire size?
What is the largest size tire i can rub ussing a 17 inch rim on a 83 custom Deluxe Shortwide. Right now the truck is stock but will be dropping it 3-5 in about a week. I have a deal in the works for some awsomerimes at a great price but what to know I will be able to fit them after the 3-5 drop?

have the same truck as you . Ihave 255x50 17,s on front & thats as much as I can take with A 5.5 IN DROP & THATS WITH 5.5 IN BACKSPACING. 4.5 OR 5 i would be scrubbing inside of fenders.
you can use this (255x50x17) as a way to calculate what other tire sizes to use to get the look you want you may even want to use a little meatier tire with a 3 in. drop , like a 255x60x17. Just remember the fatter the tire the more backspacing you will need . hope this helps |

i'm running 255/50/17's and they fit well
i'll probably be switching to a 26" tall tire though because i cant find any drag radials in a 27" tire
