Should I...
paint the chassis and inner fenders under my blazer? I have been to the car wash with oven cleaner a dozen times - on my hands and knees getting all the grime off the underside of my K5. Now, it's clean but the brown/red oxidized steel is showing. I love the virgin qualities of this rig but it would look a whole lot better with a coat of Eastwood chassis black under there. Thing is, you can't unpaint it and I have resisted doing other things to preserve the originalty. Am I right to leave it, or should I paint it and not worry about it?

Re: Should I...
Protect it while you can!
Factory rust is not a rare option. |

Re: Should I...
I agree to paint it - having used the oven cleaner on the bottom you may have removed some of the undercoating that may protect you from rust in the future - you may want to protect what you got there - just my opinion though.

Re: Should I...
I sure don't see any downside to you spraying it. Protection is a good thing!

Re: Should I...
We fight so hard to to even find Blazers that do not have rust, so why invite it in. You have a very nice Blazer and rust will decrease the value more then painting the frame. That is just my thoughts.

Re: Should I...
That is a beautiful rig. Painting it will only add to it. Once you get it done, let me know how it works because I might do the same thing.
Are you going to make it to the XXX Root Beer Truck Show? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=241901

Re: Should I...
They came with paint on it originally so any black chassis will look factory.A rusty frame wasnt a factory option so why put up with it? Paint it black and dont worry about it.They came stock with non rusty black frames so go for it.
