Rocker box question
I have some floor and kick panel rust that I may try to repair. My rocker boxes are solid. Are they removeable to weld/repair underneath or do I just do all my repairs from above and??

Re: Rocker box question
Wrongs forum....would be an ass load of work to remove plus you loose the structural rigidity they add. I would work around them and try to get a good look at them from the topside.

Re: Rocker box question
Don't remove them unless you HAVE to. There will be an access panel that unbolts at the rear wheel wells. You can unbolt em and look inside... beware of spiders!

Re: Rocker box question
You can do your patch work from above. I would not remove them unless completely rusted out as mentioned from Porterbuilt and onetonK5

Quote:
The rocker boxes contain torsion rods, both the boxes and the rods are welded in place. "Only" the rear panel unbolts. If/when floor repairs are done, reach inside and spray the repaired area from underneath to prevent future rust issues. |

Re: Rocker box question
I hope yours unbolt, 35 years of rusted shut. I ended up twisting the cage nut clean off...then your left with more problems. Don't know what to tell ya, it's a gamble either way... JMHO

Re: Rocker box question
so far all the seat, seat belt, and top bolts all came out no problem. I am just trying to get as much information as possible so I can get everything I need and someday tackle my repairs. All you guys are great help. Wish one of you were closer so I could watch/help with someone elses before I tackle mine?
