Windshield washer not worky so good - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Does anyone have any luck using the stock windshield washer? I rebuilt mine while replacing the wiper motor, but constantly have to 'prime' it. Pressure not so whoopy either. Bad hoses? Wadda pain in the arse!

I ditched that system and went with a set up I found off a 86 K10. It has a in tank pump that sprays nice! I hooked it up to the old hoses. As for the wiring part of it, there is a 2 wire plug on the wiper motor under the dash. Pull that connector off, and use male spade ends to plug into that connector. Now that factory swich works, and sprays as long as you hold the swich in.

I just bypassed everything- used a $6.oo Autozone pump and momentary switch up under the dash. Nothing is visible, so I still haven't gotten around to checking to see if it's the switch or the pump that's bad. My riggin' has been in there for going on 5 years- talk about procrastination!

I haven't installed it yet, but I got a $10 wall mart pump that'll go into the one ton.
