Question 2wd to 4wd kits?

Does anyone make kits to convert a 1970 GMC 1 Ton dually 2wd to 4wd?

Never heard of one. You would have to get all the parts you are gonna need then do it yourself or have someone that knows what they are doing do it for ya. If you search here a little there are threads about changing front ends to 4wheel drive.

There are "kits" in junkyards.A donor truck is the way to go.There`s alot more to it than front axles/driveshaft/transfercase.

Does anyone have measurements or specifications for the different mounts and other stuff that needs to be fabricated to put the 4x4 components in a 2wd truck?

I don't know what I will be running for the t-case since I don't know if I want to keep the stock trans(SM465) or upgrade to the NV4500.

I am currently doing this... with a 72 C30 frame.

I decided to go with 52" rear springs in the front using brackets from DIY4x

Well, I am using it in two places, so I must really love it.

I am using it to convert a C30 to a K30 and also on a 71 K5.
