hey guys i could really use some help!!!

i just bought this truck and on the drives side the drip rail has some rust on it. there are some small holes. what should i do to fix it????? the right way...

the driprail is spot welded in place so drill out the spot welds and see what you find underneath. Goodmark makes driprails. You may need to cut a piece from a donor cab to repair some of the areas under the driprail.

The easy way out is to start to weld all of those holes up and you will most likely start to burn holes through in several areas until you reach some good metal and then bodywork from there. Clean out completely the roof drip rail seam, epoxy prime, sand and then apply a two part urethane seam sealer to reseal the area. That is what happened to these trucks and why they rust there. The old technology single stage seam sealer dries out and cracks allowing water to permeate the surface. Good luck.

where are the spot welds on the drip rail???? any pictrues? i just bought the new drip rail, just need to need where the spot welds are.

I'd get out the grinder and cut the rails off.....dont worry bout spot welds, cuz it needs surgery anyway. Get some new rails and tack em on and use the good seam sealer as posted.
