title questions

if i buy a 4x4 frame and put my body and engine on it can I use the title for the body that i have? I was looking at a 71 frame that has no title.

Truthfully it depends on your state. Many go only by the frame vin, others use both, some focus on the vin on the body, and others kind of don't care. Check with your local DMV and see what the rules are.

I'm in VA too, and if this helps....a buddy of mine built a world war 2 era jeep out of several donar jeeps a few years back. I'm not sure if he even had ONE title. I don't think he did. But, he took receipts from all the junkers he had bought to DMV and they gave him a title for his jeep. It had a new state-issued VIN, and I think he even got a VIN plate with his title.
