Excellent choice. The subframe, engine/trans and rear end are all very good parts for a low-buck AD project. Plus, if the Nova is a complete runner, then other items like the column, parts of the brake system, and even the fuel tank can be used. If you want to save a few bucks and have a real fun project, then the Nova is about the best donor car out there. Now start cutting!

Well ,I bought it...
'76 nova 4dr in excellent condition, no dents,interior looks like its three years old, odometer says 38k, probably 138k but it's one of those littte old lady cars.

Small block, auto, Ac.... tilt wheel and dash look almost new.

Don't know what size sb.

Even comes with a extra set of studded tires and wheels.

Only thing I had a little reservation about was the track width on them is a little wide from what i've read.

Anybody know about wheel offset,size with this clip?

i'm getting ready to tear into my donor car: 75'-79'nova (got to check title for exact year) for the 54' burb i'm building. having direct experience with a subframed AD truck here is my take on this the rearend is great fit, the front clip will work just fine, the front steer is more work than the 68'-74' nova rear steer,column,wiring,brake setup(firewall mounting). my cousin has a very nice 50' with 74' nova clip 350/350 combo,74' nova rear( too narrow) the guy that installed clip did great job but didn't setup truck at actual ride height so it was too low. it's become a alignment nightmare. po. installed taller springs to raise truck therefore affecting the camber,giving it negative 3 degree's when it should be at zero degree's. low is cool but too low is a pain. good luck

Glad to hear that the front and rear are a good fit

I pick up the car tonight so I can check out the eng./trans combo, and what rear it has and I ordered No Limits video for the camero clip to '55 chevy truck install, hope they cover ride hight.

The real nice thing about that rearend is it should be a big 10 bolt 8.5. Thats nice you sould be way okay with that.

I'm on my way to get the Nova but thought I'd share some pics of trucks I've aqiured The past few years.
The sub I bought first in 2000, 250 six the rest is stock, was a school bus in redding ca.

The others i have found localy, the frame has a complete body simalar to the green one next to it.

The4x4 project may get the nova treatment.

It seems a shame to dismantle it. But it's like the straight six ..... can't give it away.

I did have fun driving it home got nice pioneer cdp too.
I checked vin it's got a 305 and a 10 bolt 7.5 rear not sure on the trans probably the 200

i just drug my 77' nova donar car out of the bushes last night. my 54' burb is gonna live again. years ago i purchased a no limit tape for installing a camaro/nova subframe, SAVE YOUR MONEY! it was garbage in my opinion poor quality and i let them know JUNK!. CHECK OUT THE SITES: stovebolt .com,oldgmctrucks.com,the h.a.m.b., tons of info on putting subframes into AD trucks. better measure your track width beacause your going to find out the nova is too wide. steve at buffalo enterprises (in arlington wa.) narrows those subframes 6" before they install them. the 68'-74' nova works better. even s-10's and 78'-87'? gm A bodies work great. the 70'-81' camaro/75'-79' nova's work better for 55'-59 TF trucks. my motto is: ASK 15 TIMES AND CUT 3! good luck and that burb rocks. stay cool!

But post #14 you say the track width is too wide.
Are you going to have yours narrowed?

i'm leaving the straight axle but getting it dropped. i have a (83')toyota 4x4 power steering box i'm using. i've been driving "clipped" AD'S for years,i'm not going to cut this one up because i'm running 235/t-5 trans. it's just going to be a parts runner beacause i have a 55' TF that is one of those "taking forever and costing a mint projects" that is clipped with a dodge aspen. give steve at buffalo enterprises a call or just get out the tape and measure the track width and compare. good luck.
