Re: Air Ride Tech?

my opinion is its over priced for what yout getting, on the front if you price that out on ***************** the bags will run you $140 then the plates are $60 so there trying to sell 2 shocks relocators and some hardware for $400? dont make sense to me same pretty much goes for the rear too

I bought the ART stuff and the quality is good. IMO, once you have installed a complete air system and have the experience you can then on the next build source different components from various suppliers. As a newbie, I liked the idea of ordering a kit and having everything I needed. If I had tried to piece it together it would have been much tougher.

Re: Air Ride Tech?

I have both the front and rear setup for my truck. I think it is a great kit. My only complaint is they didnt use all grade 8 bolts and didnt include front lower a-arm u bolts. I have a few pics on my build page of these kits.

If set up properly it will give you a great ride. The key to a good ride is getting your system set to a proper ride height.

Any air suspension will even off set some of the harsh ride from low profile tires...

Air bags will give you a better than stock ride on tiny tires...so if you run big side walls then you will love to drive your truck. Unless you cheap out or rig it. Do it right and you will be in love.

FWIW, I called suicidedoors first, to get mounts and bags. The person I spoke to [don't remember who it was back in 05] was not interested in selling me bags and mounts. He told me I had to convert to an aftermarket 4 bar or nothing. I explained the truck had trailing arms, he wasn't convinced, so I got off the phone with him. From that call, I won't deal with SD...

did you explain you didnt want to lay? A company like SD is all about laying so you and the person on the phone may have been in two different worlds.

SD's customer service has gone to hell though...

That's the problem with calling overnight companies who have sales people with little knoweldge of applications or installs. They want to sell you what they have and what they think will work, rather then try and figure out what the best option is for your application, and get you the correct parts. Their prices are cheap and their shipping is expensive to make up for it.
Product and application knowledge along with customer understanding is priceless in my opinion ..... Wouldn't you rather deal with someone who knows and understands what you're working on, and what it takes to get the job done correctly? That's why I work @ KP Components where we pride ourselves in offering the best of those two key factors.

Were you asking about the front and rear cool ride systems offered by ART. They are bolt nice systems that install easily and should come complete with all the mounting hardware and plumbing.

The front is really easy and can be installed in a few hours. Here's how the front brackets look with the airbag installed on them.

Most rear systems that are designed to be a bolt-on application can be done in a weekends work. Companies like ART and KP pride themselves on building "do it yourself" that were designed to be installed by individuals like yourself, in the convenience of your garage.

Depending on what year truck you'll be working on, there might be several different options for you to choose from. As other on here have listed, you can do some shopping around and save some money by purchasing some of the components individually. Examples of these items could be; front mounts, tanks, compressors, valve blocks, etc.

Companies like ourselves retail the identical items that you'd get from ART, however we sell them individually for cheaper. That way you can pick and choose the items that you want, and need, all the while saving a few dollars on the cost of the project.

If you are interested in some products, or an idea of what components you'd need, please let me know. I can work you out a detailed quote listing the required components and send it over to you.

Good luck with the project and never be afraid to ask members on here for advice. There's plenty of knowledge to go around.

I do not since we make out own kit that has more benifits then the cool ride. I'm sure there are some people on here with pics, or threads that contain pictures of that kit installed.
