Harmonic Balancer Question

I am replacing my 6 3/4 balancer with a 8 inch & I noticed that the timing mark on the 6 3/4 is lined up right at 2 degrees. The one on the 8 is line up with 10 degrees. Do I need to change out something to make this 8 work?

Thanks

Re: Harmonic Balancer Question

Just get you a bolt on tab for a later model 8" balancer. (Gm changed the marks about 10* so you see it better when they added the power steering pump in a different place

You mean something like this? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2&autoview=sku

Also would I install it in the same place as the old pointer for the 6 3/4?

Re: Harmonic Balancer Question

Check the seal surface to see if there is a groove where the seal lip rides. If there is get a "wear sleeve" for it. (4 or 5 bucks). Wa-la new seal surface=no leaks.
