Before I heard of PB Blaster it was Liquid Wrench.I agree that none of these are good lubes for more than short term.I like Tri-Flow because it clings.3 in 1 or sewing Machine oil works real well.I use tread cutting oil to lube tight tolerances,too.I don`t like that WD40 builds a residue and can cause movemrnt problems as a result.
HECK!!!Who doesn`t have a shelf full of a variety of lubes and penetrating spray?

I use PB Blaster as well as Sea Foam brand penetrating spray. That is some good sh!t. We use Zep Products and some Kroil at the paper mill I work at.

We use it to get the bolts out then have to heat up the part to get the rabbit fittings loose.

Yea - I have seen it there too. Just didn't really think of it. I have never bought it there - I always have plenty.

I can't find the thread right now but a while back someone mentioned a product that was sold by the Chevy dealers that he said was better than any of the ones mentioned. It was considerably more expensive though.

My brother in law got me hooked on PB a long time ago.... He was a heavy equipment mechanic. Worked wonders on that stuff....

What was the question? Whatever it was, I would just go ahead and get some PB and be done with it. WD-40 is good for arthritis and burn-scarred skin. Oh, it will melt plastic, too.

PB gets my vote, its good sh!t, but Deep Creep is a little better at freeing rusted threads IMO. They both are good though, WD40 is ok as a lube.

Hey you guys know what the main ingrediant is in WD40. fish oil. the name came from WD "water displacement" 40 is because it was the 40th formula the inventers came up with.

I like PB and Kroil.I have never been able to find "Deep Creep".

WD is good for arthritus but not much of a lube.The WD should always be found in a wheelin' truck to help dry crap out.

I use WD40 to clean the chain wax and dirt off of my sport bike tires works great for that

I always keep a can of WD around.......its awesome at killing yellowjackets/wasps...try it sometime. As for removing stuck bolts, PB is the better choice.

Used to get it from the NAPA store in town (was not brand NAPA carries) until they closed back in the late 80's. Gave a can to a friend of mine who repairs farm implements and he won't use anything else.

when I worked in an RCA factory we had access to something called "Free ALL" awesome stuff.... haven't seen it since but PB Blaster seems to be close.

EDIT: THAT's IT! I didn't look at the last post when I posted, small handy cans that kick butt! I had the "classic" can, don't know the difference...

I didn't read any other post, but the only answer to any rusty bolt is PB Blaster. That stuff has saved me hundreds of times. Living up in PA where I am from originally, we got lots and lots of rusty stuff that we use Blaster on. I think you could get by with WD40 down here in Texas where there is no rust, or at lest where I am. I usually buy it in those big jugs when I get it. Down at the car show in Carlisle they usually sell it in a tent, and I get some every time I go.

ZEP 45 is what i use... never really used pb that much, bt ZEP is where your moneys at... not sure where to but it i get it at work
