Bench Seat Cover...Which One?

My bench is out of a 69-72, vinyl with vertical pleats and scroll down the edge of the panel. There is thin foam under each pleat. Is this considered a padded seat cover and if it is why do GMC Paul, LMC and others not carry this one? This seat is very cushy, which is why I am using it instead of the '67 folding church pew! I would like to replace the cover and want the same cushy cover. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I can post a pic if it helps but I am warning you it is pretty ugly...LOL!

Here it is...told you it was ugly...LOL. But man is it cushy and the foam is really nice. What you see in the pleats is about 1/4 inch thick and 1-1/4 wide...same as the pleat.

Somebody must know what seat cover this is! I called LMC today, GMC Paul was not answering his phone and they said their $119 special was not padded...so which one is?

Jim Carter carries the padded pleat seat covers that are identical to the original. I bought mine (houndstooth) from them and the quality and fit are excellent. They are not cheap, but quality never is.

Don't, I repeat, DON't buy the $119. special that some dealers offer. I did and it tore upon install. It is crap. Most dealers handle the padded covers at about $185-225. range and they are real good. If you do the re-covering yourself, take your time and allow a day to do it right and the end result will be great. The cover on your seat looks like an original to me. Is your bench seat the "full foam" padded one where the seat rubber just lifts off the springs verses the one that is injected molded into the springs?? The "full foam" seats are much more comfortable---were an option! Huck

That is the 71-72 style seat. The cover is padded within the pleat, I carry those. Very good Quality. $190. Bill

Huck...thanks! That is just what I was hoping for...someone with some experience with the $119 version...it looked pretty good to me. Mine is the optional seat with foam above the springs. I wanted to put buckets in the truck but my daughter really likes the bench seat...and it will be her truck. Maybe I will just do the duct tape and Indian blanket deal until the truck is painted...LOL!

jonnyp...that seat looks outstanding! Did you do that yourself?

Bill...thanks...I am guessing that they come in any color. Do they also come with the hog rings and pliers?

Stllookn, yes they come in all of the factory colors. I can throw in the pliers and hog rings if needed. Bill

stllookn, I was going to do the seat cover myself but I discovered a couple of broken springs and I needed some foam patched in a couple of places. I took it to a local upholstery shop and they did all the work, including installing the cover for $65. I think it was money well spent.
