rearend question

I got a 12 bolt rearend to day, so I can rebuild mine and keep driving it. The ring gear had 11-41 on it what ratio is this.

yep... just divide 41 by 11 and you get 3.72727272... which rounds up to 3.73

at the risk of hijacking the thread, what do ya'll recommend for a good ratio for good streetability/milage/highways speeds?

mine is a 350, with 3 speed 68 stepper. currently 60 mph is about 3grand on a tach. I'd much rather see somthing in the low 2grand area at 75 ish mph.

pop in a 3.07 and itll be better, IIRC mine is around 2400 at 55mph

thanks! I had a shop try to tell me 3:43 would the perfect ratio.....still seems low to me. I hear 2:73 is ok but probably too high
