rearend cover

I bought a Moser rearend cover and it looks great. The only problem is the panhard bar hits the cover. Has anybody had the same problem. I would hate to have to remover the cover and put the old cover back on. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem. Thanks Mike

Re: rearend cover

what kind of cover is it? chrome? aluminium? cause if its painted or polished steel you can always mod it yourself with a bit of cutting and a small piece of tubing, providing itll still clear the gears

Re: rearend cover

It's an aluminium. It's hitting the load bolt for the main caps.

Re: rearend cover

Without seeing pictures of your problem I can only guess at the exact problem. This issue was covered in the most recent issue of Classic Trucks magazine. Their solution was to go to CPP and get a modified panhard bar that bends around the cover. I checked the Classic Trucks website for a link to the article but could not find it.

Re: rearend cover

What issue of Classic Truck is it. Maybe I can try and find it in the stores. I also looked on the website and couldn't find anything. I don't know how it bends around the cover. I'm willing to try anything.

It is the September 2007 issue. The name of the article is "Simple C-10 Solutions".

I had clearace issues with the adj panhard bar on my 6" rear drop. I ended up using an OEM cover and painting it black
