Anyone have the ECE receiver hitch?

Can someone tell me what the distance is from the frame down to maybe the center of the ECE hidden hitch receiver? I'm wondering if the hitch will work on my 69' with a 96' stepside bed and a roll pan. Thanks, Brandon

Re: Anyone have the ECE receiver hitch?

I have the CPP hitch, so I don't know for sure about the ECE, but I believe they both come out at the license plate. So, here's my spec's...
Top of frame down to center of receiver-6 3/4"
End of frame out to face of receiver-5 5/8"
Top of 2.5 x2.5 x3/16" square cross tube is 1 5/8" below bottom of frame..
Front face(towards axle) of 2.5 x2.5 x3/16" square cross tube lines up with end of frame.
Receiver is framed at opening to 3"x3" and extends 3" from rear face of sqare cross tube.
Mounting bracket is 3/8" mounted to frame outer face, and extends back and down a little more than the cross tube(1/2"), because the cross tube is let in to a square hole in the bracket and welded.
I don't know how the ECE looks in person, but comparing it's pictures to the CPP, the CPP has a better design to my eye, and more rugged material and construction, and was easy to mount(drill 3 holes in each side of frame). Plus, it stiffened the frame substantially. The ECE stuff I have is top-notch, but I like CPP's hidden hitch better.

Re: Anyone have the ECE receiver hitch?

Well it looks like I'll need something in the neighborhood of 5" to center of receiver from top of frame, I'll pick up something and see if I can modify to work unless anyone else has an idea.
