another backspace question

you guys running 20s and 22s on your 60-66 trucks what width and backspace do you have and have you modified your control arms. and did you have any issues with your hood???thanx heaps

How low are you planning on going? That will make a difference in the width/offset you might need. If you want to get it really low, the inner fenders are history (making the hood hinges disappear as well) but the hood should go uncut.

Thanx for your reply porterbuilt I've tried some 20x8.5 with 5.5 backspace but they don't clear the outer fender so I mite have to cut the control arms as for the truck its zed 2.5 inches with 2.5 inch drop spindles my only regret is not knowing about your dropmember before I zed

I would recommend trimming the fender instead of the A-arms. Narrowing up the control arms can cause some funky things to happen with the steering/suspension geometry. We normally trim the fender as close as we can to the hood edge and add a support/brace piece. It can be done to look really clean.

It would still be nice to have an extra inch... that's one nice thing about the Dropmember.
