LED tailights

I just got my new LED tailight boards in from Ryan and Joel. All I have to say is that is the best $75 I have ever spent. Its nice to see that there are still craftsmen in America who come up with a good idea and make a quality product. They light up BRIGHT and I already have people asking where I got them. Good job guys! They look great , work great and no doubt will make the truck safer !

Are they just bulbs that go in the sockets. Or are they a whole different modification?

Theyre a whole printed circuit board with 100 or more LED's on it that fill up all the space under the tailight lenses from top to bottom and side to side. Theres 3 wires that go to an adaptor that plugs in where the normal light goes. That sucker lights up like a christmas tree. About half the LED's are lit up while the normal lights are on but when you hit the brakes or turn signals the whole thing goes off at once. Man, it's bright ! The LED;s are red once they light up so I'll probably pick up some clear lenses to make the effect even more pronounced.

Actually, unless he changed his design, all the LEDs light up when the tail lights are on. They are just dimmer because there is a resistor in that circuit. The brakes lights get the full 12volts so they are much brighter. I currently have a set made by Ryan in my truck.

state laws

Is there a possibility that some of our state laws ban lights that are too bright. I know headlights on high beam or adjusted wrong temporarily blind you. IS it possible that these new LED tail-lights when lit could cause problems?

Yes they are some thing else. Very bright, but not to bright. They won't cause any problems.

Clear lenses are available through GMC PAuls and a few others.

Our production LED 67-72 tail inserts will be available very soon. E-mail Joel or I directly for more up to date info. And don't forget that I can special make custom inserts.

wow

I am very happy about all the kind words! Ryan and I really appreciate the compliments. I am hoping that by the first week in January, we will have our direct supplier handling all our products for us, and also handle the shipping as well. Please visit our website and click the news page for more info...
P.S. God Bless GMC Paul for his taking a chance on us.
I personally don't like the clear lenses as much as the red, but it's personal opinion, I am working on getting some pictures up on the website for comparison.
Also, We want every one to know that we will fully support our product. For example, I have had one person e-mail me saying that one of the lights wasn't wired right. I deduced that I had wired up on of the boards backwards. I sent them a new board, and will pay them for their return shipping for getting the mis wired board back. We want you to be Thrilled , not just happy. I am not doing this to get rich. I was told by a few people we should charge $200. I knew I'd price myself out of a lot of orders. I wanted this to be appreciated, so we aren't making big bucks off of this.
We are also working on several other model years for other chevy truck asnd cars. Most likely, the '60-66 fleet and 73-88 fleet will be next, then we'll be branching out as far as tail lights, Ryan is working on a Cargo/3rd brake light as some of you may have see, as well as a really , really cool trailer hitch cover.
You can email us if you have more questions, or even call me @
(714)979-4700 from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. PST. Also, if you have ordered a pair of taillights from us already, keep your documentation, and when we come out with front turn signals, you'l' get $10 off them, or anything else we offer!
As far as installation, it's so easy that if you can't do it, you need to sell your truck, and buy a honda, because you shouldn't have a truck that needs work... Simply unscrew the lens, remove the lightbulb, put the l.e.d. base in, put the board into the lens, and re-install the lens. Simple.
Thanks again for all the support!
