3648lbs with 1/2 a tank of gas in it.

Mine came in at 5300# empty, but I can't recall how much fuel was on board... (it will hold more than 50 gallons)

Yah mine is a short/narrow w/a wood bed and a 350/350.

I remember the last thread on this and I'm happy to hear this!! I figured my truck (SWB, stepside currently without a floor) couldn't possibly weigh the 42 to 4400 that some had mentioned.

I know I've got some extra weight (silverado seats is probably the biggest addition, not sure how much a 700R out weighs a TH350) but I was freaking out at some of the weights people were posting. I know I'm adding weight but at the same time I'll also reducing it as I'm being conscious of the weight of the truck as well. I'm going with roll pans which should save some LBS, one piece windows, aluminum radiator, but I'm adding power brakes, power steering, vintage air system, front sway bar, 4 wheel disks which should be lighter than drums so I'm not sure where my truck is going to come in at. I know 17in cast wheels aren't going help much at all either.

I was building the truck to be a decent runner and that last thread got me thinking crap, I'll bet my truck is 4600lbs, why did I go with a small block!

Anyway, thanks for getting your truck weighed. It made my day to hear it's well under 4000LBS and very similar to to mine.

Bryan, do you have any weight "adders" to your truck? I can't tell if you have bumpers etc...

Have not weighed Merlot yet, but my old 67 street/strip truck was 3450

These weights are no more than a late 60's Chevelle, so it can't be that hard to make these trucks fly.

No problemo! Glad I could help.

I have added the following:

8" steel 4X4 rally wheels
Disc break conversion in the front(rotors, calipers, spindles...etc)
Front sway bar
Rear sway bar
Disc brake booster
Vacuum canister(aluminum)
Went from a 3 core to a 4 core radiator
Transmission cooler

And yes, I have front and rear chrome bumpers. They're actually not that heavy.

I had a hard time believing that I was going to be over 4000lbs too.

weighed my truck two years ago when I got some dirt for my yard.

not sure how much gas it had in it. they left me as a cash pay under a large contractor, so I thought I should remove that info. 1.18 ton.

the disk brakes are typicly considerably heavier than drums. Just FYI.

I weighed my '70 for the first time not long ago. With me (220-ish) and a half tank of gas, it came in right around 4750. I was really surprised that it was so light.

Like someone said above, the half tons are weighing in close to what a street car weighs. If the aero was a little better and you could get some of that weight over the rear wheels, these things could flat-out fly (some of them can, despite those obstacles.

) My '90 Tbird weighs in at 3700, and parked next to a pickup you would never guess that there is almost as much car as there is truck.

my old SWB was a few pounds shy of 4000, and my longhorn is just over 5000
