My short 4x4 is taking shape
Lined up mostly rust free parts for my 72 short 4x4 with 3/4 ton axles. I will be painting it soon my oldest son is going to do it for me. The blazer will find a new home in a scrap yard after all the performance parts are in the 72. I am really getting excited about this all coming together.

Re: My short 4x4 is taking shape
Looks Good , What size lift and tires are you running?
I've been kicking around the idea of building my 70 GMC into a 3/4 4x4 shortbox. I'd probably even use the 3/4 springs. I have all the parts all I need is time, and a lot of PBR's

Re: My short 4x4 is taking shape
Its Running 8 inch lift springs in front and 4 inch springs with shackle flip in the rear and 36 inch swampers. Plans are for 38.5 boggers and 3 inch body lift but not sure now if id be able to get in it LOL!! so it might just stay this way.

Re: My short 4x4 is taking shape
Bigger is always better but that truck looks awesome the way it is.
I'd stick with the current stance and put the money from the 38's into other stuff. What color do ya plan on?? |

Re: My short 4x4 is taking shape
Yep i cut down a nice full size bed for it. Hated to mess up a long bed but i guess i have extra long bed sides now. My youngest son has been out of school and only working 4 days a week so he has been helping me. I guess he can't see a pile of junk and see what it can be yet because now all he says is Dad this is going to be so sharp you are going to let me drive it right. He wants to hurry up now so he can cruise it on the weekends.

Re: My short 4x4 is taking shape
Great project! Looks like you have some good sheetmetal to start with. I'm with the " stay with 36's " crowd. I liked my 38's, but I'm getting old and fat. 33's are more my style now.

Re: My short 4x4 is taking shape
I wish i could get it done fast. Sounds like a cool trip to take.We have a mud drag here for our fair and its the end of this month id really like to have it done for that but its looking like it may not make it.I can only work on it for just a short time on the days i even feel like getting out side.
