No passing gear?
I have a 1980 Stepside with a th400 and 454. I see no kickdown cable - does it work by vacuum? Because there is a vacuum line going to the tranny. The engine combo is from another truck, and the swap was not done by me.
I assume there should be a a passing gear? Right? any ideas? |

Re: No passing gear?
It is electric on a turbo 400.
There should be a switch for passing gear. On a 1980 I believe the switch is down by the gas pedal. |

Re: No passing gear?
Might be a switch on the carb end of the linkage if it's from another type of vehicle.

Re: No passing gear?
might be a manual kick down meaning you shift down instead. like my chevelle had a th350 with a manual valve body, no kick down cables.
