Re: What size bags

RE7's all around seem to be the bag of choice for these trucks. That's what I have too (based on research on this board).

Re: What size bags

I decided to go with the RE7. An S10 would use an RE6.

Please post any items for sale in the parts board.

Most guys run RE7s up front and RE8s in the rear on s10.

Re: What size bags

Why would anybody run RE-8's on a S-10 ???

RE-8's are what a lot of 1-ton guys run !

Re: What size bags

The RE8 would be alright in the front if you were running a big block and needed the additional lifting capacity. It's going to be close to rubbing on some of the suspension if you were using 1/2 ton suspension items.

The reason guys will run an RE8 on the back is for lift, and ride. The larger bellow bag will ride softer due to the internal capacity of the bag itself. Plus the bags will lift the truck higher at a lower pressure so you can get the height and ride that you were looking for.

There are about 5 guys in my club running re8s on the rear.

www.s10forum.com about 90% of the guys running slam bags have re8s in the rear.

Re: What size bags

You can get an RE8 up front in an S10 like the picture shows, but look atg the amount of material removed from the frame. You can get the same amount of drop and like with an RE7 in the front of an S10, the RE8 will just ride at the same height with less pressure.

The front spring pocket of the 63-87 C10 trucks are totally different. You can get an RE8 in there but the problem will be with clearance issues on the lower bumpstop mount and swaybar mount. The RE7 will be perfect up front and still give an easy 9 inches of travel.

All the trucks that I've built always had the RE7's up front with the exception of one dually with a 454. I went RE8's on there to compensate for the additional weight of the motor and the fact that it was crewcab longbed truck.
