Factory Tach Install Question
My 1972 C10 Cheyenne Doesnt Have A Tach And I,ve Got To Remove The Dash Cluster To Install A New Washer Pump And Now A Question. My Old 1970 Has A Good Working Tach In It And I,d Like To Swap It Over To My 72 Cheyenne. How Do I Go About It And What Alls Involved. Help Please.
Bob

Re: Factory Tach Install Question
The 1970 Cluster Is Alot Rougher And I,d Prefer To Use The 1972 Cluster And Just Install The Tach.

Re: Factory Tach Install Question
Is the bezel rough or the gauges and all? You could just swap the plastic bezel from the good one on the gauge cluster with the tach..You're going to need the wiring, the printed circuit, tach, the face from it for the numbers to install in the 72 cluster. You would have it all apart.Easiest way is to swap the bezels,IMO.

Re: Factory Tach Install Question
Hey Bob. You can take both dashes apart and use the best guages to build a nice cluster, but you will need the backing plate, lens, printed circuit, and tach harness from the tach cluster to make it work. This is the time to paint those faded guage needles and polish the lens. I have the correct red-orange paint to do this since I refurb these clusters from time-to-time. Let me know if you need any help....Robert
