My rear end has a leak so I took it to a local rear end shop to have it sealed.
Bad news the houseing is cracked!! Cost to fix $600.00 !! So now the hunt

Re: Rear end cracked

To bad.. They just had half price day at pick and pull.. You would have been able to get one for about $60... Why not just go look at the local yard there in SJ and see if you can get one there.. Acually there are two yards in SJ..

Re: Rear end cracked

Thanks to all . Well my brother in law just called and said he was swapin out his rear end to a disc rear end. He has 5 lug axles, and the original 6 lug axles as well. I orderd the deluxe rear end kit from CPP (199.00 frt included ) becuse as you know the 60 axle is difreent then the 63-72's.
Oh well it still driveable I just have to make sure I check the gear oil once in a while .

Re: Rear end cracked

What's a few drops of oil? My truck definitely marks it's territory wherever it goes! It leaks from the diff also. I have a new gasket sitting in the shop, I just need to make time to put it on... Sounds like you are getting things together though...I knew it wouldn't take you long! Al rato, Chato!
