Seat Swap

I would like to swap out the old bench seat in our 87 gmc. I would like to have something with a flip up arm rest in the center. What seats have you guys installed and how do they look?

Were you able to retain the stock sliding adjustment to move the seat back or forward ?

That escalade seat is the second row seat....they dont come in 3 passenger first rows. I think it looks cool though!

Re: Seat Swap

I've got a couple of these going in this weekend. I hope. Supposedly from an '02 Blazer. Leather. The driver's side is a bunch of electric. The passenger's is sort-of electric (lumbar). I'll spend some time figuring out the wiring, I'm sure.

As for mounting...That's always a head-scratcher. I'll take tips from anyone willing to give 'em.

Oh...I'm talking about the seat...not the garbage can. You should see my garage,,,,,ugg!, Maybe not.

Re: Seat Swap

BTW, I have the rear seats from the Blazer, too. If anyone close needs them. I thought I might make up brackets to put them in the bed for a once-and-a-while ride, etc. But the California Highway Patrol is tough on the seatbelt thing. If you put belts in, and you carry anyone back there, they'll stop you ten times a day to check to see if you have 'em.

I'm going to need some gray belts if anybody has some that they think will work in the '83.

Motor is transplanted. The guy called tonight and started it for me. Sounds like I'm going to need to: Have an Ox Sensor bung welded on to the first exhaust pipe after the flange (had to use the extra 350 headers instead of the ones off of the 305....don't know why); for the same reason, get some exhaust work done; put a new deep-dish pan gasket on the 700 tranny; rebuild the carb; get new wires; shroud wouldn't fit on the new 4 core, so I guess I'll do an electric fan set up (tips?); wehatever else comes my way.....

Re: Seat Swap

what to do to make these fit... i had to cut tha brackets off the seat bout 4 or 5 times... this was my first time doing somthing like this...i had to keep taken tha seat in and out off the truck... to get every thing where i wanted it... i used some alum. angle bolted it to tha seat then made my own brackets to match the holes in tha truck.
