15,16,17???s

OK, I put an '85 front end w/ disc brakes and new standard springs. Now my front end sits too high! I dont really care for the lowered look. Can I eat up some of the space in the fender well with bigger tires on my 15s? Should I go with 16s,17s rims AND tires? I don't really care about speedo reading wrong but I am concerned about whether the bearings, brakes, clutch, etc. can handle all the extra wear. Interested in ya'lls experience with this.

Re: 15,16,17???s

what size tire are on it now? Changing tires can fill up the gap.
a 235 75 15 is 28.85 '' a 215 70 16 is 28.90 '' and a 255 60 17 is 29.10''
3 difrent rim diamiters ,but the tires are almost the same hight.
As long as you dont go with a fwd offset your bearings will be ok. If you have good brakes they should be able to handles 17, 18 maybe 20,s
Why not just get a 1" coil drop?

Re: 15,16,17???s

I've got 235/75/15s. Thought about going up to a bigger metric. (Cant exactly remember the size right now) that was taller but wasn't sure what it would look like. I hadn't seen 1'" drop coils out there. I bought these at O'reillys. Was trying to avoid buying more springs. Either way I guess I'll have to throw more money at it. My truck is a POS but man I love drivin' it around. BTW, I really like your truck. Enjoying your progress. KJ

Talking Re: 15,16,17???s

Sorry so late to reply. Went on vacation. I want this truck to look bone stock right now cause it is a work truck. I'm 6'3" so I like the high ride height. Love the look of some of the lowered stuff but just not for me. I want my truck to look "just like grandpa's" but with newer safety features. I'm keeping my inline 6 and 3 on the tree for now. Hoping this will keep thieves away. I hated these trucks when I was a teenager but now I wax nostalgic when I drive it. Also, nobody wants to borrow this truck or see me park it in front of their house cause she's so ugly, LOL!
