Does anyone know if a 1988-19998 chevy short bed tonnue cover fit a 1983 chevy shortbed

not sure about length, but i know the top of the 88+ is narrower.i remember a bud that put a sleeper from a beat up 81 on his 92 and the sleeper hung out over an inch on the sides
