I have a 3 spped and would like to sawp to a camaro t5 5 speed. Is anyone running this set up? What is involved in running the hydraulic system, or is their a way to keep mechanical linkage? Is the shifter going ot be in aon OK postion,I'm up in the air on bench seat or buckets yet so thats not a big deal.

Re: T5 Camaro transmisisons

I too am going to switch to a 5 speed trans. I have been told that the t-5 out of an s-10 works better due to the shifter position. With the car t-5 tranny's the shifter sits too far back and will be right under the seat. The s-10 t-5's however are supposed to have shifter's that are more forward. I've been told as well that a NV3500 out of a full size pick up will fit too. Not quite sure what I'm going to go with yet. Hope that helps some.

I'd recomend the NV series.. .the T5 is a bit of a glass jaw. If you have a 307 or smaller, then the T5 will probably be OK, but it'll still fall apart if you are beating on it

Re: T5 Camaro transmissions

The T5 is GREAT with an S-10 & 2.5L 4 banger. Other than that, pass.

Guys, do a search here. I've written several statements and would like to 'steer' you in the right direction and have answered those questions already. When I'm back in a few weeks, I'll be doing a major write-up to help everyone out.
