don't have to work!

came in to work on thursday afternoon(2nd shift) at 3:30p,notice on board said we didn't have to work that day(12/19) or any more days till the christmas break, beginning w/ the 2nd shifters!we had a bring in dinner scheduled anyhoo,so at least i stayed till lunch(8:00p).well,needless to say i didn't go to work tonite(12/20) either! and at no penalty like a absent day charged to us.so,.......i went out to the garage and put on some stuff that's been waitin' to go on the truck. s/s scuff guards on the door sills, sand-blasted and repainted:battery tray, washer bottle holder, emergency brake cover(thanks tim christian!)glove box emblem, original style rear view mirror/arm,powder coated hood latch assembly.....powder coated hood hinges/springs......god i love staying home from work and working on my truck!! sorry for the ramblin, guys!

I volunteered for a layoff at Duracell a few weeks ago with full pay and benifits and unemployement, the pay will last 14 weeks and the unemployment last 26 weeks with the opertunity to file for a extention after that, anyway I've been in the shop working and selling parts and buying trucks and it dont get know better than that. I have also had two interviews for a new job as a AMIT with Advance Auto Parts there opening a new store across town but I still got about 3 more weeks hopefully. I guess I'm a ramblin man too!

I've been off all this week and will have another extra week in January so I dont back till the 13th. I havent been doing anything to the truck tho. Everytime I touch something here lately it breaks so I'm staying away from it. Nice to be off this time fo the year but doesnt say much for the economy.

Don't mean to rub it in but I am off 365 days a year (retired). Only one bad thing about it -- not as young as you guys either. Much harder to crawl under my truck now.
