Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

I'm right there with ya on figuring out what to do with the inside of the bed...except mines stepside. I think I'm gonna paint mine black and bring it up over the top of the bed. As far as getting colormatched, you could go with the roll on bed liner.

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

I've seen some color match spray in bedliners they always seem to end up being one shade off the color of the rest of the truck if that doesn't bother you go for it they look good

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

Here is a pic of the bed...some small dings and such. I figured a colormatch liner (Line-x does them) would look good. I dont want black cause vehicle does not have any black other than tires on it now. lol

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

I tried buyin a color matched liner and couldn't find a dealer that wanted to spray one. They all claimed that they faded to quickly. The black isn't that bad.

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

I went to Line-X and they mix colors to as close as they can, that`s it.There`s has a real nice texture because it`s hot applied.I had a dark grey done on parts of my`95 work truck I had to match the charcoal metallic powercoat on other parts. They also offer a UV coating that I got.For the couple years I had it,that grey kept it`s color and was shiney. This is on a contractor`s ladder rack and bed.It got hoses at best, maybe washed a few times a year.I asked and they won`t do white because it yellows.I wonder if they`d do clear?

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

I don't do colors for two reasons. 1) they fade too quickly and 2) I operate out of 55 gallon drums...and I am not going to order 55 gallons of say...blue for the one guy that wants blue and have 45 gallons sitting in the shop.

Plus...It is $45 dollars in chemical just to flush the lines. You have to flush the black first, then shoot your color, then flush the color to get back to shooting everyday everybody's favorite BLACK!

White is a big NO WAY...will turn Yellow...And clear liners WILL also turn a God aweful old Yellow from Sun fade...not a pretty sight!!!

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

Can you paint over spray on / roll on liners? I have a spot on a car that gets hit with stone chips that I thought of doing this to.

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

As nice as that bed looks I would fix dings and repaint if i was't hauling stuff. If you are hauling stuff check local paint store at my local paint store they sell kit you add one quart of paint to it and spray it on and it is suppose to match truck color.Never seen colored variety used but black looks good its cheaper than line-x or rhino about 150 dollars but not as durable..... Just another option and opinion

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

A local shop that sprays "Speed Liner" said they can mix in 1.5 ounces of my polyurathane paint into each gallon of their product to tint it. As stated above, the color was a shade off when cured, so I applied 2 coats paint over the freshly applied liner. I did the running boards also, seems to be holding up well. I do step on the running boards & have not noticed any scratches or paint comming off. I like the "speed Liner" because it has a more consistant texture than the other spray on bed liners. Note, The bed floor is the only part with liner applied

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

it looks a lot better in person

i used DOMINION TINTABLE HIPPO-LINER and you just mix in whatever color you want to(thats chevy victory red) turned out real nice but i dont know if it would stand up on a "work" truck. i sprayed it with one of those texture sprayers with no tip on it if you use this dont mix it for quick dry time it gets to thick to use in just a couple minutes

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

Mine in called "speed liner". My truck was the guinea pig project for the spray guy. It was sprayed in 2002 and still looks great!! It doesnt get driven much though and never sits out in the sunlight.

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

I wanted to do the spray liner in blue but nobody in Maryland wanted to do it because of fading so I made a carpeted liner using boat carpet

Re: Colormatch Bedliner??

Paint over the liner it works good and doesn't scratch easy unless you really beat on it and that way it wont fade and it'll be a perfect match
