Re: WTB: Alternator Bracket Adjuster
What he said, I have one that is not OE but I think it might work ???
I will dig up the picture & edit this, it's been sandblasted, then it was POWDERCOATED BLACK, I will take $20 shipped for it if interested *It's the really long bracket on the right side of this picture below ->

Re: WTB: Alternator Bracket Adjuster
Don't believe they are Killer, the extra one is a lil longer, that's why I'm not
real sure if it will work or not. Really depends on the type of alt. set-up

Re: WTB: Alternator Bracket Adjuster
The one on the right in LUV2XCLR8 pic looks like a 67-68 one. Which I dont think will work on the 69-72 lower bracket.
And just for everyones info there are 3 types of upper and 2 types of lower alternator brackets for stock 67-72 chevy truck small blocks. There is the 67-68 style uppr and lower that mounts to the exhaust manifold. There is the 69-72 lower that mounts to the head. There is the 69-71 upper adjuster arm. And finally there is the 72 upper adjuster arm. The 72 arm is just longer that the 69-71 upper arm. |

Re: WTB: Alternator Bracket Adjuster
What you don't see in the picture is the offset or bends in the original bracket. The long bracket is flat and you will have to add a spacer where it bolts to the block to get it out to the correct position or bend it to the original offsets.
I did a post this morning asking about an alt bracket option before I saw this post. In the picture on the right the arm and alt bracket are bolted together; this is nopt the configuration on the truck. They bolt to different holes on the head and or block if I remember. Aarons72s, Do yo uknow if the 72 adjuster arm has the offset bends in it?

Re: WTB: Alternator Bracket Adjuster
According to Aarons 72s, the 72 adjuster arm is longer than the previous years.
If you refer back to the picture from luv2xclr8, the 3 brackets on the right are a chevy upper and lower bracket and what I think is an after market upper. The after market bracket is longer, but does not have the factory offsets in it to fit properly. Also, the aftermarket does not have the arc in it that the factory bracket has. According to Aarons 72s, the 72 bracket looks like the bracket attached to the lower bracket, just longer, allowing for more adjustment. Keith
