late model A/C

Has anyone tried installing the complete heat/ a/c unit from an 88 up truck into a 67-72? It is complete and all inside the cab cleaning up the engine side of the firewall. Should get er done for a lot less than an aftermarket kit.

Interesting thought but nothing with these trucks can be that easy. Looking forward to some more experianced board members thoughts.

Re: late model A/C

I put a late model evaperator, acumlator in my 71. As far as any other components the condensor out of a sub or truck should work I would think.
The truck doesn't care what components are in it do they.
When I installed mine I had to spray that foam insulation inside the box because the evaperator was smaller than the factory 71 that I had.
Check this out.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
