I got mine at CPP too. www.classicperform.com Here are a few pics of it without the bolts. Those go on after the powdercoat. I welded it too. If you call in the order, they may quote you 125$ but tell them you seen their ad in classic custom trucks for 99$ and they lower the price

Re: Where to get c notch for my 72?

No, you don't cut into the bed. You only cut the notch out from the frame like in the pics MisterE72 provided. Then drill the holes and bolt it in...or weld it in place instead. I welded mine in as well.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Where to get c notch for my 72?

From your original post,I assume you have access to a welder?I'd spend a few bucks on a foot of 6'' sch.std. pipe and maybe 5 sq.ft. of 1/4" plate to box in the frame around the notch and build your own notch.Prolly safe $75 if you don't count your time (which we all know you can't when dealing with projects like these).

This is very easy to do with a piece of Sch 40 pipe if you have a welder. 6" diameter Sch 40 pipe has a wall thickness of just over 1/4", plenty thick enough.

bad6772 - There is really only one way they can go on since they are bent to match the frame. Take some paper or poster board and trace then out, mark the bends on the c-notch, ans line them up to the outer part of the frame rail. Just be sure the bend and notch look correct for each side.

This pic from a post above should tell you exactly which side is which.
